REMODEL
The week before my destination (Cancun) wedding Wood-Mode flew Vince (my dad) and I out to Pennsylvania to discuss the possibility of remodeling their lobby. I’ll never forget it because two days before I flew out, I had tried on my wedding dress after the alterations to find that she had hemmed it way to short in the front. I was devastated and in panic mode because it was too late to order another dress. I would have to find one that fits on the rack. So we came up with a plan to fly to Wood-Mode and drive back because on our drive home was Becker’s Bridal Boutique and they have over 2,000 dresses in stock.
The Before
So, it had been a while since Wood-Mode had updated and I would say by looking at these before pictures that it hadn’t been touched since the 70’s. The green sofas had absolutely no support. We laughed because you would sit and sink straight into the floor, and getting up out of them was a real challenge.
Lobby Project Needs
Wood-Mode wanted to use the space in multiple ways:
- Needed To Keep A Receptionist Area
- Wanted A Conference Room to Meet with Vendors
- Wanted To Have An Waiting Area
- Wanted To Have A Kitchenette for throwing Christmas parties, Rep Meetings, Ect.
- Wanted A Dealer Recognition Wall For Top Selling Dealers & TV to showcase their work
Roadblocks
There were a few roadblocks because this was 2021 and lead-times were through the roof. After designing and ordering furniture and installing we were 90% complete by September. With the exception of the conference room walls and some of the appliances. The conference room walls came from Italy and had to be crated and shipped and took the longest. They were well worth the wait, so beautiful, so chic.
After
Wedding Dress
Luckily, I was able to find a wedding dress that I loved even more than my first. I got the experience of picking the first dress with my mom and the second with my dad. I highly recommend Becker’s to any bride. The picture with my dad is a little blurry but all I have from our road trip home.
