The Invisible Integrated Cooktop
I was first introduced to this concept when I went to the Milan, Italy show Eurocucina in 2018. I thought it was interesting and a really great concept if you are tight on space because it becomes working countertop when not in use. For the first time I have recently seen this available in the United States and it’s actually pretty affordable. In case you haven’t seen this or are not familiar with it I thought I would share some information on it.
How It Works
Invisacook is installed beneath your countertop. Using advanced invisa-induction technology, it works through your countertop to effectively heat the surface and create an adequate cooking space where there might not traditionally appear to be one. Additionally, as the Invisacook does not generate direct heat, it remains safe to use as traditional counter space when you’re not cooking.
How Do You Know Where The Burners Are
system is designed with a noise locator, or a device that emits a beeping sound that starts when you turn on your unit and audibly designates the burner you want to use. The beeping will stop when your pan connects with the cooktop surface.
However, there are other options you can work out with your dealer in order to locate the burner. For example, you may have them etch a spot for each burner, or simply ask them to place a sticker there until you have a feeling for where the burner is.
What Countertop Materials Work With This Product?
We recommend large format porcelain material that is 12mm thick from numerous brand manufactures which you will find listed on the our website. Granite may also be used, which is milled to 1.5cm in the area of the cooktop, but Natural Stone Disclosure form must be read and understood.
Does The Countertop Get Hot When Cooking?
Yes. The surface will get warmer and warmer over time as you cook, eventually becoming hot to the touch. For your standard short cooking time, the surface will not get that hot. However, once you have surpassed about 10 minutes’ worth of cooking time, the surface will be hot and you should exercise caution around the area in use. Also when cooking keep in mind that Induction is a very quick heating process, so when frying food, you only need a Level 6 on your controller, and Power Boost is to only be used when Boiling water.
Does This Unit Require Electrical?
Yes, 220v twist lock receptacle is needed for the 2-3-4 & 5 burner unit and 110v receptacle for the 1- and 2-burner units. All units are to be plugged in but also can be hardwired, as required in some countries.
Is There Any Special Cleaning That Needs To Be Done Where The Burners Are?
Only the proper care recommended by the stone fabricator and countertop manufacturer are needed.
For granite countertops, we do recommend re-sealing every couple of months over the cooktop location.
