Wood-Mode Lifestyle & Design Center Remodel

The Wood-Mode Lifestyle Design Center is the premier showroom featuring custom cabinetry inspirations for homeowners, interior designers, architects and luxury home builders. Each display showcases the latest product releases and Wood-Mode lifestyle design themes presenting styles ranging from traditional to transitional and contemporary for the kitchen, bath and beyond.

Crazy to think we opened the Wood-Mode showroom in Chicago already 8 years ago. With that being said we made the decision it was time to remodel and show some of our latest door styles and finishes. We decided if we were going to do this, we were going to do it right. We moved some walls and added some doors and really made the flow and function of the space so much better.

The Front Kitchen Display

This kitchen is one of my favorites and it’s even more beautiful in person. Very transitional with Matte finishes everywhere you look. We used the Wood-Mode Pescara door style on the perimeter on Rift cut Oak Doors with our Matte Spring Wheat finish. The Islands were done using inset cabinet construction also done in Rift Cut Oak Carbon and Sandblasted and we used the Tiffany door.

So far this is the largest Stoll hood I have ordered to date, and it paired beautifully with our element accent doors. If you ever want to know furniture details or anything else specific don’t hesitate to reach our and ask.

My Person Favorite Appliance in The Showroom … The Wine Dispenser

So apparently not everyone can finish a bottle of wine and this wine unit will hold 4 bottles and keep them good for months at a time. The 4-ounce, 8 ounce, or free pour options are FUN to play with. I captured the wine unit with countertop doors that actually touch open and pull out and that is where all the hidden stuff is stored. The door below is actually a undercounter wine fridge. Wood-Mode did this on their Warm Grey finish. I had them to polished stainless accent tubing that paired well with the decorative hardware. Wood-Mode also used polished metal edge banding for the wine storage left and right of the units. You can’t tell from the photo, but I also decided to back light the wine.

Meetings – Presentations -Selection Area

This walnut room is a beautiful spot to gather around. Designers can pull up there plans on this Framed tv and give their presentations. We have sample doors, moldings, sample blocks all hidden behind the cabinetry making this a very easy place to meet and make selections. This area is done using Arlington Door style and its Matte Chocolate Truffle finish. Lighting, Rugs, Sconce, and chairs were all ordered through Restoration Hardware.

Second Selection Area

We now have two selection areas because one was not enough on busy days. This space also has a special lighting booth where you can set up your samples and see it with any type of lighting. Also, makes it easier to get photographs that capture what it really looks like in person. On the side we house all of our doors, and finish blocks.

And on the adjacent side is where we have the lighting booth. Also, where we grab our clients and designers’ coffee or heat them up a treat in the steam oven.

There is one more area not photographed that I will have to add and update for you all later. I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek. If you would like to come in and visit I’d love to set up an appointment to give you a tour.
