We decided this year over our anniversary week to take a family vacation to the Vidanta Riviera Mya. Not too far from where we were married. Donell’s mom and cousin joined us, as well as my parents, and sisters’ family. It was so wonderful to spend quality time together. You all know my side of the family all works together, so it was really nice to hangout outside of our typical work setting. Also, reception was so terrible that it made checking out for vacation easier.

The Pools, The Jungle, The Animals

One of my favorite things about this resort is the beautiful sparkling pools that are tucked away in groves of lush jungle. I loved all the walking trails and probably averaged 20-30k steps while I was there. Every morning, I would stop at the Jade for a coffee, then I would start my morning with a walk around the pool, to the Salum, and then off to visit the crocodiles and flamingos. So much wildlife all around if you looked closely, you would notice all the lizards sunbathing.

Every morning the had Zumba class and every afternoon they would teach some salsa which was so much fun!! I really do miss dancing since I don’t get to doing it as often anymore.

The Food & Cocktails

They had some wonderful food, and I would say my personal favorite was the Italian Restaurant. Max’s favorite of course was the sushi and Havana Moon’s cheeseburger. Pool side margarita’s during the day and then would have my go to cabernet at night. The two for one happy hour was great and took full advantage of that since it wasn’t all inclusive.

Jungala

We decided to spend half day at the waterpark which ended up being the perfect amount of time. My favorite part was the lazy river and hot tub. I also enjoyed the family slide which was very high up there and intimidating. I was for sure having some second thoughts as we launched down the slide, but it was a lot of fun.

My dare devil Max wanted so badly to do the slide where the floor drops out from under you, but he was sadly 6lbs to small. His cousin did end up able to do it and go down. Both of them did the free fall which was insane. Hopefully I can post a video below.

Home Sweet Home

It’s been a crazy week catching up, but it feels good to be home and back into the swing of everything. I am off to Kansas next for the Bridgwood showroom installation.
