CHICAGO BATHROOM FACELIFT
A bathroom remodel is one of the biggest bang-for-your-buck projects you can undertake. Even small changes, such as replacing lighting, new fixtures and tile will yield big returns. My friend’s mother-in-law who is in her early 80’s was having a really hard time getting in and out of her shower. So, while she went away to Palm Springs for the winter, we decided to change the tub into a shower and spruce up the entire space.

- 2. Save Water and Money When you install new plumbing fixtures that are designed for improved efficiency, you can reduce water usage. …
- 3. Increase Your Home’s Value

Upgrading Light Fixtures & Paint
We really wanted to keep the bathroom feminine, so we decided to change the Lavendar walls to Benjamine Moore’s Hint Of Pink. Aside from giving it an updated, aesthetically pleasing look, regular interior repainting can protect and prevent damage to your walls. Paint seals out moisture and prevents the degradation of wall surfaces like drywall and plaster while also repelling dust, dirt, and allergens that can linger on walls or be swept off onto the floor. I love Benjamin Moore Auta Bath & Spa Paint.
Bathroom lighting fixtures brighten the space and contribute to the overall atmosphere. When I am on a budget my go to light fixture place to shop from is Shades of Light. So many great options to chose from but they also have a trade program I love being able to give my clients the extended discount. Lighting is something that is very reasonable to install as well.
Tile & Countertops
I love clean quartz countertops in bathrooms. When on a budget I always reach out to my fabricator to see if they have any remnants that might work with the look I am going for. For this we wanted a white crisp and clean look, and we were lucky to find Caesarstone Quartz.
My go to tile store is Virginia Tile and that was our one stop shop for this bathroom. We wanted matte floors and an oversized subway tile for the shower walls.
Vanity
We were a little tight on time, so we decided to order the Vanity from Bridgewood and had them do a custom color match to Amazing Grey (Sherwin Williams Color). I placed this as a quick ship order to make sure it was here on time for the guys to start and finish on time before she got back to Chicago for Easter. We decided to do their Seamless Shaker door style because it is made from MDF, and it will hold up and not crack at the mortise and tenon joints like wood doors do.
