The Boot Bench
I had the opportunity to design this home last year while it was being built. It’s located in the country in Pennsylvania. We had so much fun with the entire home and it is the first home. It is the first home I have ever done farmhouse, so we had a ton of fun with it. They came to me early this year and asked for a boot bench. They sent me their dimensions they had to work with and their inspiration photos.

The Design
Based off of the dimensions I quickly sketched out and we started talking about door styles and finishes. I am so glad they went with the Pale Spring Green w/ White and wood accents. I love doing pops of color in rooms like this and what is great about this color is your also brining the outside in. This is Timeless and will never go out of style.
The Installation
I always make it a point to talk to every installer even if remotely to ensure they know why I ordered all the parts I did and to make sure they understand my vision. Even on a small installation like this I always go the extra mile to make sure every detail has been thought through. Since the base cabinetry is frameless and the door style was 1″ thick, I wanted to make the side panels flushed with the doors. I also wanted the furniture base to sit in front of the door so we could see the detail so I ordered 1″ solid stock to sit under the door so the base could be applied in front of it.
Anytime I have open cabinetry I always order a framed construction box. Since this was going to also be painted, I did not want any seams, so I placed a custom price quote for Wood-Mode to build the entire cabinet as one piece and install the shiplap in the back. After a few back-and-forth emails I received an approved quote and was able to place the order.
